A Year of Growth for Extensive Livestock Products Thanks to Pantry Heroes

In 2025, Ramats de Foc has organized a series of activities to highlight extensive livestock farming and its products, thanks to the Heroes of the Pantry grant from Som Gastronomia, within the framework of Catalonia, World Region of Gastronomy.

In the spring, visitors to the Transhumance Fair in Mollet de Peralada had the opportunity to meet the livestock farmers involved in the project and taste their products. Shortly afterwards, at Làctium 2025 — Catalonia’s leading dairy fair — the project was presented and tastings of products from several participating farmers were offered, with the aim of showcasing their quality and diversity.

At the El Pebre space in Olesa de Montserrat, the Ramats de Foc dairy catalogue was presented, accompanied by a guided tasting to give visibility to producers and support the promotion of their products. With the arrival of summer, the Ramats de Foc a Taula initiative brought the brand’s products to restaurants in La Garrotxa and the surrounding area, fostering collaborations between livestock farmers and restaurateurs and incorporating local ingredients into the menus of the participating establishments.

Finally, to close the year, this autumn Pibernat Alimentària has prepared a lamb shoulder confit, which will be showcased at the Barcelona Gastronomy Forum and the Orígens Fair, with the aim of beginning its distribution to both establishments and the general public. In addition, a second edition of Ramats de Foc a Taula will take place, this time in Prades, with the goal of highlighting the work of local livestock farmers and fostering new collaborations with local restaurants.

This year’s activities highlight the work of Ramats de Foc in promoting extensive livestock products and its ability to create connections between producers, restaurateurs, and the public. Thanks to the support of the Heroes of the Pantry grant, the project has successfully showcased its products in various professional and consumer spaces, strengthening its market presence and contributing to the promotion of Catalonia’s gastronomic heritage.
