We participate in the national project GO Ramats de Custòdia, which aims to develop and validate extensive livestock farming models in strategic areas, demonstrating their capacity to generate environmental, social, and economic benefits.
The project promotes livestock systems that reduce wildfire risk through vegetation management and the creation of mosaic landscapes, while also supporting the conservation of habitats and species. It also seeks to improve the economic viability of farms by making them more efficient and better adapted to each territory.
The actions are being carried out in three pilot areas: O Courel (Galicia), Montsec, and Garraf (Catalonia), in order to compare different contexts and obtain results that can be applied to other regions.
This project is developed within the framework of the national call for supra-regional Operational Groups under the 2023–2027 Strategic Plan of the Common Agricultural Policy (CAP), an initiative aimed at fostering innovation and knowledge transfer in the agri-food and forestry sectors.
