Martí Pujolar has a herd of 28 breeding cows of the Salers breed that graze the oak and pine forests of Segueró, in Beuda. Martí’s approach is based on regenerative pasture management, minimizing mechanical work in the fields and allowing the cattle’s own grazing in the forests to help grow an herbaceous and palatable undergrowth to replace the large mass of shrubs with high volumes of fuel, thus reducing the chances of fire spreading in a strategic area.
