Male and Mateo manage a herd of 200 Catalan goats on the slopes of Montsec, where they work to recover and conserve this nearly extinct native breed. The project, born within the Slow Food Terres de Lleida’s Found Cultures initiative, combines extensive grazing with landscape management and fire prevention, demonstrating the value of livestock farming rooted in the land that keeps alive the genetic, cultural, and ecological heritage of Ponent.
