Josep Maria manages a herd of 1000 “xisqueta” sheep in an ecological grazing system in the area of Pont de Montanyana (Baixa Ribargorça). His livestock project called Tonyet del Llarc, of a family nature, is based on a model of extensive pasture that takes advantage of natural resources to raise the animals in a sustainable way. In addition to guaranteeing high quality meat, their work actively contributes to the conservation of the landscape and the prevention of forest fires. With a firm commitment to local marketing, Josep Maria seeks to promote local consumption, adding value to his product through direct sales in the town’s store.
