The origins of the ISCRA Organic Livestock project go back to the last century, to the end of the 80’s, when they started working in organic production. Currently, Josep and Wolf Rosenow have about 25 mother cows and a total of 50-60 cows with calves, bulls, bulls and fattening cows. All of them grazing all year round in strategic fire prevention zones. They are dedicated to the Albera cow breed, the only autochthonous cattle breed in Catalonia, which is in danger of extinction. A small sober cow that is able to reduce the herbaceous and bush load in a very effective way. At the same time, it breeds its young and gives us a narrow economic margin by keeping the herd young and alive. The Albera calf meat is very good and healthy with low fat content, therefore it can be compared more with wild animal meat than with conventional calf meat.
