El Ramat de Can Bofill is an agroecological livestock project led by Pepi and Oriol, part of la Tartana de Can Bofill, a community initiative for agroecology and cooperation located in the Collserola hills, Barcelona. The herd has around 90 Payoya goats and aims to revive traditional livestock farming and improve forest management in Collserola. The goats graze meadows and forests, helping to manage wildfire risk and promote biodiversity. The herd is collectively and participatively managed, fostering co-responsibility, with the community involved in the care of the animals, land management, and the production of its foods, including milk, cheese, yogurts, and organic goat meat, sold through direct sales and local shops.
